Golden Blues

Gold rising through blue, on hemp and jute with ink and raw edges. Blue is the color of distance, of water and of the long mood, and the gold does not cancel it. It comes up through it, the way light comes up through deep water toward the end of a dive. Nothing is resolved and nothing needs to be. The piece holds both at once, which is the honest condition of most good days.
