My work begins with unlearning. I come to the studio through curiosity and let the material tell me what it wants to become. The burlaps live a double-sided, symbiotic existence: two faces of one medallion, reality on one side and the dream on the other, the conscious and the subconscious in constant conversation. Each piece is impossible to repeat. Art, for me, is the fine line between the other world and this one, a portal. There is more knowledge held in the body than in any book ever written.

The Burlap Series
Double-sided works in hemp and jute, painted on the floor with my hands and custom footwear, built up over many layers. The pigment is not applied so much as absorbed, rising from within the weave so the color shifts when it is backlit. Released from rigid frames, the pieces float. Because each side speaks to the other, a work can be flipped, rotated, hung in open space, or used as a partition wall.

The Kintsugi Series
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of mending what is broken with gold. Healing does not mean returning to who you were; it means embracing what broke you. I use Kintsugi as a metaphor through male and female torsos, the body becoming the place where transformation happens. Each form is mended through its own colors and its own story, whole in a new way, and deeply human.

The classic use of canvas, textured and sophisticated. Graceful, soothing, and radiant. These are the quieter works, built up in patient layers until the surface holds its own light. Color settles into the weave and warms a room without ever raising its voice. Made to live with for years, and to be noticed again each time a little differently.
Sculptures
Pennies, acrylic, and golden amber. Double-sided man and woman sculptures. Copper and resin catch the light and turn it to warmth, a body pressed from thousands of small coins into something whole. Each figure is finished on both faces, made to be seen in the round. Weight you can feel, and a glow that shifts as you move around it.
