Book of Love

Large, hemp and jute, ink, wood, raw edges. The title is plain and the work is not. A book of love is never one story, it is everything a person has kept, in no particular order, in handwriting that changes with the decade. The layers here behave the same way. Nothing is thrown out to make room for what comes next. Each pass is laid over the last and the earlier ones keep showing through, which is exactly how love is actually filed.
