About the viewer

If you’re a gallerist.

You’re looking for work that solves a problem before a collector even asks about it. This does. The Burlap Series is genuinely double-sided — front and back are two distinct, saleable compositions on a single object — which gives you more flexibility on the wall than most 2D work allows: hang it flat, float it, or use it to divide a room.

The Kintsugi torsos carry a philosophical hook collectors grasp in one sentence — gilded repair, visible fracture — which shortens the conversation without cheapening the work. Polen trained as an architect before she trained as an artist, so scale and site-specific installation aren’t an afterthought; they’re the instinct the work was built from. Pieces already sit in private collections across Miami, New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Canada, and France, with prior placements including Ritz-Carlton and Aston Martin Residences.
