Good Luck
Good Luck
Ink and acrylic with a collage of Florida lottery tickets, letters and a black-and-white photograph, stretched. Every ticket in this piece was a small bet that life might turn. None of them won, and they are all still here, which is the joke and the tenderness of it. Luck is the story we tell about the part we could not control. Set beside the letters and the photograph, the tickets stop being rubbish and become what they always were: evidence that somebody hoped on a Tuesday.
