Polen Cerci was born in Southern Turkey. Completing her BSc. in Architecture at Eastern Mediterranean University she continued her education in Australia with a post graduate degree in Information Systems Management at Central Queensland University in Melbourne and a Masters of Business Administration from Bond University.

Polen worked in the design field of construction and business development in various companies and had the chance to work with prominent architectural and design companies, such as YOO by Phillippe Starck, RMJM-Istanbul, SHCA London, BRT Hamburg, Arqem Madrid, M2E Miami as the architectural and business development co-ordinator.

After experiencing the wild of Australia, Polen escaped to Bodrum and the ever inspiring and historic Istanbul for over ten years. She then moved to Miami, the land of blooming art and sun, to pursue her artistic vision.

The freedom and abundance that Miami offered awakened her creative side and brought it to the surface.

Being free from regulations, structural concerns and the battle between local councils and the developers was one of the deepest joys she had experienced. She describes it as if it was like being a teenager again with the experience of an adult.

The boundaries were reduced only to the limits of her materials and the size of a canvas.

Polen shares her life with Miami and Istanbul, both cities that inspire and further her artistic journey as an emerging artist, allowing her to express her accumulated ideas and concepts from her imagination.

Expanding the visions of creativity in the souls of the long forgotten 9-5 people and commercial developments is her nature.

Given her background she appreciates the inspiring merging of art and development which took place in Wynwood with special thanks to the visionary Goldman’s.
